math is fun but freaky harddd....

i was given this equation:
4x2 + 37x -30 = 0

i could simply find x using factorization:
(x+10)(4x-3) = 0
x= -10, 3/4

poof. simple?

well alternatively, i could use the discriminant method where:
x ={ b ± √(b2 - 4ac)} ÷ 2a

so,

x = { 37 ± √(1369 - (-480)} ÷ 8
= (37 ± √1849) ÷ 8
= (37 ± 43) ÷ 8
= 10, -3/4

(different answer than previous method but screw the negative/positive sign, focus on the number)

HOWEVER!!!
i was told to use a crappy method.
say like you have an equation:
x2 + 2x - 3 = 0

to solve it, i must form a perfect square equation out of it, so
x2 + 2x = 3
x2 + 2x + 1 = 3 + 1
(add one to each side to complete equation and to balance)
(x+1)2 = 4
√(x+1)2 = √4
(x+1) = 2
x = 1 ± 2
x = 3, -1

so, using the above method for the first equation,

4x2 + 37x - 30 = 0
4x2 + 37x = 30
(divide all by 4)
x2 + 9.25x = 7.5
x2 + 9.25x + 21.40 = 7.5+21.40
(x+4.625)2 = 28.90
√(x+4.625)2=√28.90
(x+4.625) = 5.375
x = -4.625 ± 5.375
x= -10. 3/4

see how it all get so complicated?

today was some real happiness,,,,
i got 10/15 and 10.5/15 for two fo my philosophy essays
and during literature lesson, when teacher said "you know what we're here for..."
and i said "to rape you!!!!!" and she got irritated n da whole class laugh like hell^^
at least im like damn happy right now to have irritated the teacher i hate the most^^

today's first day of school...
SUCKS!!!!
mother tongue teacher a month ago said you can do a pair work. this morning, she said, no. no pair work, so i ended up having to separate me n my buddy's work into two and uugghh!!!! frustration!!!
then class teacher scold me for not going to the co-op CCA but no one ever told ,me the schedule..
Literature teacher destroys my mood for the day!!!!!!
friends at school is not matured at all and have no friggin idea how to be a good friend!!!!
aarrgghh!!!!

but people in the forum juz know what the word "love" means :3

well, "De Divinia Proportione" means the divine proportion, which is the golden section, which is cut by the golden ratio, which is represented by the greek letter phi, which is 1.6180339887...
and why? bcoz i like maths n numbers and that is jus how it's gonna be.
